Bolzano. Franciscan church from 1348, destroyed by a bomb on 29 March 1944 and rebuilt after the war. In the first years after the war, the monastery, like several others in South Tyrol, which was the only German-speaking region not under the control of an occupying power, served as a hiding place for high-ranking National Socialists who were on the run. Adolf Eichmann, for example, was housed in this monastery by the priest of Sterzing
