Chief prosecutor Hans Grossman during a break in the court room. Grossmann was the first of the seven prosecutors to make a plea against the Auschwitz extermination camp and declared the National Socialist 'Final Solution' as the 'most terrible massacre in human history'. The trial against 22 former guards of Auschwitz concentration camp was opened on 20 December 1963 in Frankfurt on the Main.
