Members of the guard battalion of the Bundeswehr are standing in front of the airlift monument in Berlin-Tempelhof, where flowers and wreaths were laid down for the victims of the airlift mission during the Berlin Blockade, on 12 May 1998. 78 people died during the supply of the western part of the city in 1948 and 1949.
