Soldiers of the British army, which was deployed in Germany, and soldiers of the German Armed Forces remember the Battle of Blenheim (also: Second Battle of Höchststädt) from 1704 during a ceremony in Höchststädt on 13 August 1961. Beforehand, British soldiers had repeated the historical march of the allied German and Dutch armies under the Duke of Marlborough from 1704. The distance from Bedburg near Cologne to Blenheim (Höchststädt on the Danube) in Bavaria is about 645 km long.
