View of the "French" part of town in Southern German town Kehl on the 6th of October in 1950, which had been evacuated and then inhabited by the French army and the soldiers' families after World War II.
In the meantime, more than 2,000 of the originally 12,000 inhabitants of Kehl were allowed to return. Three quarters of the town are still inhabited by the French soldiers and their families.
