Post-war period - Protest against currency reform in 1949

In the street Unter den Linden in East Berlin in March 1949, demonstrators protest against the introduction of the German Mark (D-Mark) as the only legal tender in the Western part of the city and the consequent division of Berlin. The slogan "Gegen das Währungsverbrechen der Spalter Berlins! Für einheitliche Währung und Versorgung der Hauptstadt!" is hung up above the lectern in front of the entrance of the Humboldt university of Berlin.
