Following official statements explosive cartridges were found in both houses.
While they still fought against the fire, a woman called the editorial department of the dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur in Frankfurt and states, that the fires were "political acts of revenge". The fire brigade and police informed the members of staff of the other shopping malls in Frankfurt immediately, to avoid further fires.
