More and more people arrive for the demonstrations for freedom of press, assembly and opinion at 'Leipziger Augustplatz' square in Leipzig, GDR, 24 October 1989. Shortly after that, the SED regime collapsed rapidly. GDR opened the borders on 09 November 1989. Only one year later on 03 October 1990, the German citizens were reunited again in a sovereign state, 45 years after the end of World War II.
