A cannon of the US army, which can also fire nuclear shells, is standing on the military training area Grafenwöhr in Bavaria on 5 February 1959. In the context of a manoeuvre, the American army carried out the simulation of a nuclear attack. Two shots of "Honest John" missiles and 28cm shells simulated the massive shot and the strong production of smoke of the nuclear attack. Around 40 NATO generals observed the simulation.
