US soldiers land in Germany for the participation in the manoeuvre REFORGER I

A plane of the type Starlifter C-141 with American soldiers on board during the landing at the airport in Nuremberg on 20 January 1969. The soldiers participate in the manoeuvre "REFORGER I" - "Return of Forces to Germany". Altogether around 17.000 soldiers participated in the manoeuvre, many of them were brought from the USA to Germany via air bridge. The equipment of the soldiers has already been in depots in Germany for the most part.
