Improvised river crossing during fall maneuver of US Army in Bavaria

Three infantrists of the US Army crossing the Main with their Jeep on 16th September 1954 near Bamberg. Since there were no pioneers present they built a pontoon of eight empty oildrums for their vehicle, which they used to cross the river.
