US troop transport taking a break before trip to Berlin through Soviet zone

Légende

A combat group of the 8th US infantry regiment waiting for the food serving in a a camp near checkpoint Helmstedt on their way to Berlin on 22nd June 1962. The American soldiers, coming from the FGR, had to drive through the Soviet zone to relieve the US troops already stationed in Berlin. The journey proceeded without any problems.
