US troop transport reaches Allied check point Dreilinden

The first vehicles of the A company of the 3rd battalion of the 6th US infantry regiment reaches the allied check point Dreilinden in Berlin on the 12th of October in 1963.
Coming from the Federal Republic of Germany, the American soldiers had to drive through the Soviet zone on their way to Berlin, to replace US troops stationed there.
After the convoy had been held back at border crossing point Marienborn at first, the journey proceeded without any problems.
