Leni Riefenstahl (m) gives stage directions for her documentation about the Nuremberg Rally of 1934. Leni Riefenstahl, director and photographer, who celebrates her 100th birthday on the 22nd of August in 2002, started her artistic career as dancer. She celebrated a large success as director and main protagonist with the film "The Blue Light" and turned to photography later. Her unique style in her films and photographs is unchallenged, but she was heavily criticised due to her closeness to the Nazi dictatorship and her films about Nuremberg Rally, the Olympic Games in 1936 and the Wehrmacht.
