Second World War - Edertal dam bombed

View on perished cattle on a farm in Mehlen, some kilometers behind the dam of Eder Lake. On 17 May 1943 Edertal and Möhntal dams were destroyed by bombs of the British air force. More than 1,200 people died, about 100 buildings were destroyed, several animals perished in the waves.
