Interior of Pansanger, Hertingfordbury, Hertfordshire, 1953. Showing a fireplace shortly before the house was demolished and its fittings sold at auction.The mantelpiece is supported by two putti on either side. A lot number is marked in chalk. The house was begun in 1806 and was built in a romantic gothic fashion complete with battlements and turrets. The interior was later remodelled in neo-Italian style.
