Légende
Ornately carved piers of the Hensington gate, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, c1860-c1922. The piers originally formed part of Vanburgh's design for the Italian Garden. They were moved to this present position when Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, objected that the wall they formed a part of blocked her view.
