Model of a butcher's shop, c1880s. A butcher stands in the centre of his shop, surrounded by cuts of meat and hanging carcasses. On either side of a coat of arms are 'Merry Christmas' and 'Happy New Year' decorations. Miniature butcher's shops such as this example were highly prized toys of Victorian middle class children.
