Toothbrush, box of dental powder and tongue-scraper, 18th century. Silver toothbrush, box of powder for cleaning teeth, a device for scraping the coating off the tongue, and a pot marked 'The Queen's Dentifrice'. Such items would have been used to try and counter the effects of the rich diet and heavy drinking indulged in by the rich.
