Légende
Sacrificial scene depicting Mithras slaying the bull. Found in Walbrook in the City of London in 1889, it certainly formed a major sculpture in the worship of Mithras and undoubtedly came from his temple. Mithras was the Persian god of heavenly light, and his worship came to the Romans by way of Asia Minor. Mithraism was one of the many mystery religions introduced from the East.
