'The Man of Taste, Rich's Triumphant Entry', 18th century. A procession marking John Rich's entry into Covent Garden. On the right a carriage is being pulled by satyrs and driven by a harlequin who declares 'Rich for ever'. John Rich was the son of Christopher Rich, who was the manager of the theatre in Drury Lane and The New Theatre, Lincoln's Field Inns. John Rich succeeded his father after his death.
