'Sir Hudibras his Passing Worth, the Manner how he Sally'd Forth', 18th century. Hudibras and his squire Ralph on horseback. Hudibras' horse bares its teeth at a barking dog. In the corner in the right a man upsets a table causing the baskets on it to tumble off. Plate II from the story Hudibras, written by Samuel Butler. Hudibras is a colonel in the Cromwellian army. The story shows him getting involved in various misadventures, where he shows himself to be stupid, greedy and dishonest.
