Luigi Villoresi winning the British Grand Prix, Silverstone, October 1948. Driving a Maserati 4CLT/48. Villoresi had been racing since the early 1930s. As a member of the Maserati team he twice won the Italian championship. In 1948 he switched to Ferrari, and then then joined Lancia in the early 1950s .
