Légende

Gordon Murray (on the left) with Jackie Stewart, July 1984. Murray started out working in the drawing office of the Brabham factory. At the end of 1972 Bernie Ecclestone appointed Murray as the team's new chief designer. He designed the Brabham BT42 and its successors, and in the eighties designed the BT 52 and its successors, all of which proved extremely successful. Stewart's racing career lasted until 1973, winning a then record 27 Grands Prix, as well as three World Drivers' Championships, in 1969, 1971 and 1973. After suffering a serious accident in 1966, Stewart became a prominent campaigner for improved safety in motor racing. In 1997 he returned to Formula 1 as owner of his own team.
