Poster advertising Matchless motor bikes, from a brochure, 1939. A man in a cap and raincoat, with a stylised design of parallel lines indicating speed. Matchless produced its first vehicle, a tricycle in 1904, and was Britain's largest motorcycle manufacturer from the 1930s to the 1950s. During WWII it manufactured 80,000 G3 and G3L models for the British armed forces. The company closed in 1969.
