Fiat 500 parked outside a quaint shop, 1969. Introduced in July 1957, the successor to the highly successful 'Topolino', the 'nuova 500' used a layout similar to that seen on the 600, with a rear mounted engine drivng the rear wheels and independent supension on all four wheels. In total, over 3.5 million Fiat 500s had been produced by the time production ended in 1975.
