A 1939 Harrod's one ton electric delivery van. The famous London store of Harrods began using solid-tyred American Walker electric vans in 1919. Later they built their own, and this is one of the last of their fleet of sixty. This one ton vehicle was powered by batteries giving a total of 60 volts; all were stored under the floor. Electric vehicles were ideally suited for local deliveries.
