Légende
A 1943 Willys Jeep. This example took part in the Normandy landings of June 1944. Rebuilt by the French Army, it was brought to Britain in 1978, attending shows, rallies and military vehicle events, plus several Normandy anniversaries. The four wheel drive Jeep originated in 1940 from the American Bantam Car Company, a relatively small firm who did not have the capacity to build in large numbers, so Willys and Ford also took up production. Jeeps saw service in all war zones, and proved to be the most versatile and dependable of vehicles during World War II.
