Norham Castle, Northumberland, c2000s(?). The keep and inner ward from the south-west, seen through the south curtain wall of the outer ward. Commanding a vital ford on the River Tweed, Norham was one of the strongest castles on the border between England and Scotland, and was frequently attacked by the Scots.
