A glazed pottery figure of an official of Khotanese type, standing on a plinth splashed with sancai buff, green and chestnut glaze. His hands are clasped and concealed beneath a chestnut coloured muff, wearing a high necked jacket with wide pendant sleeves, the back swayed. The piece is covered with typical sancai (3 colour) lead glazes of buff, chestnut-brown and green hue. The unglazed face has a severe expression and retains traces of red pigment remaining on the lips and traces of black pigment depicting eyebrows and moustache.
