Brown marbleware cup, late Tang dynasty, China, 9th century. A small brown and white marbled earthenware cup with a five-faceted handle, covered both inside and out with a brown glaze. The base and shallow footring is of unmarblized reddish clay. The shape has been influenced by metalware pieces probably of foreign origin.
