Légende
Jian stoneware bowl with 'hare's fur' flecking, of alms bowl shape, late Northern Song dynasty, China, early 12th century. A bowl of alms-bowl shape with incurving rim. Its purplish brown body is covered both inside and out with a black temmoku glaze suffusing to brown at the edge. The interior, and to a lesser degree the exterior, has orange brown flecks radiating from the centre, a glaze effect sometimes referred to Hare's Fur. The base has a circular indentation and shallow foot, both unglazed, revealing the typical purplish brown body of this kiln.
