Bronze lamp, the stand in the shape of a warrior's torso, Qin dynasty, China, late 3rd century BC. A bronze pricket lamp, the shallow tray on top of a short pillar issuing from the stand, which is in the shape of a warrior's torso with the head and dress ribboned in a style similar to some of the pottery warriors found near Qin Shi Huangdi's tomb (site of the 'Terracotta Warriors'). The shoulders of the figure are pierced for affixing to furniture or a stand.
