Silver bowl with animals, birds and dragon, High Tang period, China, 8th century. A silver bowl of shallow U-shape decorated with a pair of mythical animals separated by a standing mandarin duck amid floral scrolls, a running doe and two geese. The centre of the interior has a three-clawed dragon, crab and fish in a pearl bordered medallion in repousse technique.
