Blue and white tea or wine cup, China, 1450-1475. Small Ming dynasty short-stemmed cup. The stem is slightly splayed at the base with a small flange at the top. The cup is decorated on the stem with a dog's tooth design in underglaze blue, the shallow wide mouth of the cup is decorated on the exterior with a continuous sparse lotus scroll decoration within underglaze blue borders. The interior is undecorated.
