Jade Buddhist lion dog, Yuan dynasty-Ming dynasty, China, 13th-16th century. A Buddhist lion dog shown with lingzhi fungus in its mouth. Its eyes are protruding, its eyebrows joined as one and curling like horns, its haunches have curls at the end, the claws and feet are well modelled with extensive hair incisions of tail and mane.
