Jade quatrefoil bowl with a sage in landscape, Qing dynasty, China, late 18th century. A jade (nephrite) bowl of barbed quatrefoil section. The steeply flared sides rise from a flat base supported on four ruyi-shaped feet. The bowl is lightly engraved with a sage leaning on a staff accompanied by an attendant, walking towards a thatched hut set among trees and shrubs in a continuous rocky landscape.
