Légende
White jade mythical animal, Yuan dynasty-early Ming dynasty, China, 1279-1499. A jade mythical animal, or possibly a stylised rabbit. Its back shows pronounced vertebrae and its stomach underside is ridged. Its hocks have flaming extenuations. The tail is bi-forked with bushy tail in centre curling to one side. The ears are small and cornucopia shaped, the claws well-carved and accentuated by double line. The rear legs are large in proportion.
