Légende
Jade mythological animal, late Ming dynasty, China, 1550-1644. A mythological animal with one horn sitting with curled spine. The animal's long tail is engraved with fur markings and held against its haunches. The head is held up with cornucopia ears and turned to one side with open mouth and snarling expression. The pale green stone has traces of the rich brown skin of the pebble on its back.
