Blue and white bowl, Ming dynasty, Jiajing period, China, 1522-1566. A blue and white bowl with convex interior bottom, the base concave in typical Jiajing style. The centre has a floral medallion within a double line border. The exterior has four different floral spray roundels each without border and separated by pairs of stylised cloud motifs, all between blue line borders. There is an unusual six character mark within a double outlined rectangular cartouche.
