Celadon dish with duck in flight, Southern Song dynasty, China, 12th century. Large, slightly conical dish carved in the centre with a duck in flight among clouds. There is a wide band of continuous trailing chrysanthemum spray and all decoration appears under a dull celadon glaze. The base is unglazed showing a rather grey body.
