Blue and white bowl with cabbage-like flowers, Ming dynasty, China, 1550-1580. Small blue and white bowl with slightly everted rim. The piece is decorated in rich underglaze blue in a central medallion with a spiky leafed plant and flowers. The exterior has three groups of the same plant with flowering cabbage and insects between each group. On the base are four good luck characters.
