Pair of gilt pewter scroll weights, Late Ming dynasty, China, 17th century. A pair of pewter scroll weights gilded with red lacquer fixative. The irregularly shaped pewter (one slightly bowed) is decorated in high relief with a man with boy on his shoulder and another standing with arms behind his back. There are also bands of children riding piggy-back playing among leaves, holey rock, and peony, some with masks and one with hobby-horse.
