Lacquer wrist rest with rectangular ivory insert, Qing dynasty, China, 17th century. A curved rectangular bamboo section for a wristrest. The piece is decorated on the top with red, black and yellow marbled lacquer and a rectangular ivory inset of a landscape showing pavilions by a river with bamboo and cherry tree and scholar crossing a bridge. The reverse has black lacquer.
