Blue and white straight-sided covered box with lotus, Chu Dau kiln, Vietnam, mid 15th century. A blue and white circular straight sided box. The top is decorated with a single lotus-type flower in deep blue, the edge of the top has a single blue line. The vertical sides have a continuous lotus scroll in two different shades of blue. The base is unglazed and reveals the putty-like clay.
