'Le Sou de la Delivrance' caricature and song sheet, Franco-Prussian War, 1870-1871. Marianne sweeping up coins leaking from a split sack, referring to the indemnity payments France had to make to Germany after her defeat in the Franco-Prussian War. Paris had to shoulder a disproportionate part of the payments, one of the grievances that sparked the uprising which led to the establishment of the Paris Commune in March 1871.
