Above the altar, an angel reveals the Sacred Heart pierced with a sword (representing God the Son) which appears in rays of hevenly light and surrounded by seraphims. On left, the aristocratic woman kneeling in prayer is Princess Louise Marie of France (1737-1787), daughter of Louis XV . Doors on right decorated with palm fronds, symbols of sainthood. Museum of St Denis, Paris.
