'Against Communism', poster for the French Milice, 1943-1944. The Milice (militia), also known as the French Gestapo, was a paramilitary force created in 1943, with German aid, primarily to fight against the French Resistance. They were also actively involved in the rounding up of France's Jewish population for deportation. The inverted white ribbon was the Milice's logo.
