Walter William Ouless, portrait painter, 1880. He first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1869. He was elected Associate of the Academy in 1877, and Royal Academician in 1881. It was due to the advice of Millais that Ouless concentrated on portait painting. He was a governor of Dulwich College, and helped to re-hang the Dulwich Picture Gallery. In later years he was an active member of the Artists' General Benevolent Institution, as its honorary secretary and vice-president.
