'Review in Windsor Great Park of the troops from the Ashanti war', 1900. The march past Queen Victoria. During the 'Ashanti Campaign', the Ashanti people in what is now Ghana offered substantial resistance to British imperial ambitions in Africa. Britain finally succeeded in suppressing the Ashanti in 1900.
